Agnes is a Consultant in the firm. Agnes graduated from City University in 2005 and joined Capita Hartshead as an actuarial assistant. She joined the firm in June 2010 and she has worked on investigations, profit tests and solvency 2 work. At university, she enjoyed financial mathematics and statistic. Graduated from University of Science and Technology in Ghana and went on to pursue a postgraduate studies in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Cambridge, a masters degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo in Canada and a PhD in Actuarial Science from City University in London. Have worked in City University as a class lecturer of Financial Maths and Statistics and in OAC where he developed an Economic Scenario Generator (ESG) to project scenarios of future interest rates, shares and other asset prices; did valuation work, and prepared a quote on Income Protection for group scheme. Have also performed an extensive research on “Future of Life Office Supervision in the UK” for KPMG. Alison has 18 years experience as a consultant in the UK life assurance industry. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and holds a life actuary (including with profits) practising certificate. Alison has experience in dealing with conventional and unitised with profits, unit-linked, non-profit and PHI business on a wide range of projects for large and small life insurers. These have included acting as reviewing actuary, valuations, pricing new products, developing model office systems, experience investigations, reviewing ICAs, Part VII transfers and Solvency II work (gap analyses, QIS5 and review of internal model documentation).

Jennifer is a Consultant in the firm. Jennifer graduated from University of Southampton in 2007 where she studied Mathematics with Actuarial Science. She enjoyed the modules on contingencies, actuarial and financial mathematics. Phil is a Consultant in the firm. Phil graduated from Heriot Watt in 2000 and joined Lloyds TSB / Scottish Widows as an actuarial student. He joined Hewitt Bacon and Woodrow as a loss assessor in their compliance consultancy division before joining Cornhill's pension review team. Phil joined the firm in August 2002 and has carried out product development work, reviewing work, investigations into experience, asset share calculations, special project work as well as working on reserving for the clients of the firm. Simon is an Actuary in the firm. He is a qualified actuary (Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries). He has 16 years experience in the UK and overseas life industry and has significant experience in dealing with conventional non-profit business especially annuities. He joined the firm in Sept 2010 after having work at the Pearl Group for 5 years. At Pearl he was involved in the Annuity buy out market, assisting senior management in potential acquisitions. He brings significant knowledge of the longevity risks faced by many pension schemes to the company. Simon enjoys producing valuations to time and to budget. Hazel is a consultant in the firm. She studied Financial Mathematics at the University of Surrey and enjoyed the modules on statistical methods with financial applications, general linear models and stochastic processes. She graduated in June 2010 and joined the firm in August 2010. Hazel has carried out valuations, worked through product development work, completed various experience investigations and produced work to support QIS5 submissions. Derek is an Associate of the firm. Derek is a Fellow of the Faculty of
Actuaries. He qualified in 1982 and has been widely involved in
working parties on with profits business for the actuarial profession.
He is on the Faculty's Bonus and Valuation Research Group and has
co-authored papers on
"Restructuring Mutuals - Principles and Practice", "With Profits
Maturity Payouts, Asset Shares and Bonus Smoothing" and “With Profits
Smoothing - A Stochastic Study”. Derek has been involved with the

Mick is an Associate of the firm. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He qualified in 1985. He has co-authored SIAS papers on the EMU and the year 2000 issue (“Ostriches and Emus”) and the development of insurance systems (“A Walk through the Information Technology Maze”). Mick gained wide experience of unit linked business before in recent years working mainly on system development projects. These projects have included all types of life and pensions business and have covered development of calculation systems, system migrations and marketing data warehouses.

Nick is an Associate of the firm. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He qualified in 1974 and is widely known in the friendly society movement where Nick acts on several industry bodies. Nick is an expert on policyholder taxation as well as previously being actuarial function holder and with profits actuary in a number of societies. Nick has now retired from full time work from OAC but still wants to be involved in special projects especially involving tax issues. Peter is an Associate in the firm. He graduated from the London School of Economics in 1957 and joined the UK Provident Institution as an actuarial student, qualifying in 1962. In 1963 he moved to Legal & General Assurance Society where he had a range of roles, including ordinary life valuation, a spell in internal audit, and a ‘special projects’ role in assisting and deputising for the appointed actuary in his work on professional and insurance industry committees and working parties. He retired in 1996, after which he worked part-time for five years as a loss assessor in Cornhill Insurance’s pensions review. He joined the firm in November 2004 and after a period working part time, became an associate in July 2007. He is involved mainly on special projects.
